Run Free draw on return to action

RUN Free United returned to action with an entertaining 4-4 draw against St Pauli on Sea.

The evenly contested encounter, which was again played to raise funds for SECE Mind, saw Eddy Cooper and Ryan Creasey both bag braces for Run Free.

And Eddy was delighted with his side’s gritty display at Garon Park.

“It was a fantastically competitive fixture all for a great cause,” said Eddy.

“It was a thoroughly enjoyable game for everyone involved and yet again SECE Mind and football are the winners.”

Run Free fought back from 2-0 down to level the match at 2-2 before St Pauli regained the lead.

Two goals in quick succession put Run Free in front for the first time before St Pauli netted a late leveller.

But Run Free’s Brad James was thrilled to have the team back in action.

“It was amazing to get the group back together and we couldn’t have picked better opponents,” said Brad.

“It was a great game and both teams headed off to the pub together after the game which is was nice as well.”

Run Free are now looking forward to hosting their own five-a-side tournament which will be held on Saturday June 19.
